I absolutely LOVED everything about this very intense read. Tahlia wants to be a dragon rider. It’s always been her dream, but the law says only full fae can be riders. She’s half-human.
The worldbuilding is brilliant. The characters are compelling. The romance gives you all the feels. The dragons are incredible and the scenarios involving them believable. This novel offers a beautiful example of what an academy of dragon riders ought to be. This is how an elite squadron of dragon riders should behave, and shows exactly what ought to be important to them. I agree wholeheartedly with this author’s view of what dragon riders are and where their loyalties ought to lie. I loved every minute of this book. I couldn’t put it down. And this is the book that should be getting all the hype.
Additionally, the opening of this novel is so similar to one of my favourite movies of all time, A Knight's Tale. Very similar vibes and the dragon twist to the "knight" made this element of the story so much fun.
If you love dragons, dragon riders, fae, and high fantasy, you need to get this series!!!
