I was really surprised at how immersive this novel was. I expected it to be like most PNR reads, but it turned out to be unputdownable. I loved the characters and really felt their emotional turmoil and the difficulties they were facing. The plot is also engaging and has some seriously intense moments. My only issue was that sometimes the progression of a scene was confusing where I couldn’t picture certain actions because they didn’t quite fit together logically in my mind. I do look forward to continuing this series though. I’ve never read cougar shifters before and the world building definitely has me seriously intrigued.
