Camilla Evergreen writes sarcastic, chaotic romcoms full of single beds, secret obsessions, and neurodivergent traits. She uses the accessibility of romantic comedy to extend a simple, but important, message to anyone who finds her: No matter what, you are not alone.
What got you into writing your own stories?
Mostly anime hangovers. I'd always been living in my own fantasy world, but the motivation to put pen to paper rested upon a pitiful absence of sufficient animes in the "she's a thief; he's the detective after her; they fall in love" genre. The road to publishing my stories was a different sort of accident...
Tell us about your WIP.
Currently, depending on when this is published, I'm working on Falling in Love with a Tiny Bat. It's an enemies to lovers, bullyXbully sweet and clean romcom, and the shenanigans are absolutely wonderful.
How would you describe your writing style?
Mmm....probably...unhinged chaos (affectionate). According to several 5-star reviews I accidentally saw recently, anyway.
Do you cross over genres or do you only stick to one?
My main genre under Camilla Evergreen is closed-door romantic comedies with contemporary elements. My current That's (Para)Normal series has fantasy elements, but it's more focused on using them in an allegorical way where if you get it, you get it, and if you don't, it's still fun and fantastical.
What is your "writer's den" like?
I usually just write at my desk from Goodwill in my bedroom. There is a little crocheted bee friend on my tiny organization drawer, though.
How do you get into the flow for writing? Do you have any rituals?
I usually just sit down and write. If any of my readers mention any sacrificial rituals, I promise that was not my idea, and I do not participate in them. The only thing I do with any consistency in relation to my "writing flow" is forget to eat until it's six at night.
What are you most grateful for as a writer?
My readers. Quite recently, they decided to start a cult and make me the cult leader... I'm still trying to get them to stop sacrificing people, but the spirit is undeniable. Praise moth.

Featured Book: Falling in Love with the Man of My Nightmares
What was the most interesting random fact you researched for this book?
The history of the breaking of the furcula tradition.
What's the message you worked into this book?
You're allowed to build sandcastles, because someday you will find the people who love them as much as you do.
Oh Pollux, you sweet nightmare man. 😩 Five bees for you! 🐝🐝🐝🐝🐝 Kassandra is the teacher every little deserves and the Dream every Nightmare needs. I loved seeing Pollux blunder his way through a romance with her. And also all the times he was most certainly NOT blundering. 🫣 As Kass would say, smash. 😏 This book had me laughing, blushing, screaming, melting, feral. Read it. Read the rest of the series. Read everything Camilla’s ever written. Join the cult…or…um… Anyway. Falling in Love With the Man of My Nightmares is book four in the Para(normal) series by Camilla Evergreen. It probably CAN be read standalone, but I really recommend reading the first three books first.
