A Chimeric Vampire's Tale by Linda Ling

The Book Dragon

Oh, wow! If I thought A Midflight Vampire’s Tale was intense, this second volume in the series kept me glued to my seat. I’m not usually a fan of multiple points of view and non-chronological narrative styles, but somehow Linda Ling nails it completely. I couldn’t get enough of the story and the characters, and I NEED to know what happens next!

I was so pleased to get to know more about Henry and Ben. I was so curious about them by the end of the previous novel, and the author definitely delivers with the characters in their points of view. I also love the addition of the seekers through Ali. She was a surprise, but her side of the story added so very much. I will admit I am heartbroken for Cheng. She, by far, got the worst deal from this book! Please, please, please let things get better for Cheng in volume 3! Yes, I’m begging.

If you want a vampire story that’s like Interview with a Vampire or The Vampire Diaries , then this series is definitely up your alley. It’s such a wonderful relief from all the Twilight copycats out there.
