The adventure continues and it's as compelling as the first instalment of the A Thousand Li series. I absolutely loved the progression fantasy, and how despite all the improvement in his abilities, Wu Ying is still very believably fighting for his life when it comes to the monsters he faces.
I also appreciated that in this novel there's a lot of teamwork. Where The First Step was all about Wu Ying achieving things on his own and gaining entrance into the inner sect, The First Stop is all about the strength of the team and the importance of pooling knowledge and resources, as well as working as a team when fighting.
There are great D&D vibes in this series, and I definitely had loads of nostalgic moments when things reminded me of Princess Mononoke once again. The plot is action-packed, which makes this story a total page-turner. I enjoyed every moment of it!
