A very enjoyable second instalment in the Weary Dragon Inn series. Bev's sleuthing days aren't over, and when the town's harvest festival is jeapordized with a series of catastrophic incidents, matters come to a head. The cozy mystery mixed with fantasy makes for an interesting combination, and I thoroughly enjoyed the unfolding of events. The author kept me on my toes the whole way through.
I also enjoyed the magical creatures in this volume. A sniffer-dog who can find magic made for some really fun moments, especially since Bev has to first figure out what creature she's found. Biscuit looks like he's there to stay, so It'll be fun to see what more magic-finding adventures are on the horizon.
I'm enjoying the series. It makes for a wonderful break from all the epic, chosen one fantasy series, or the ones steeped in political intrigue. This is nice, fun, relaxing reading with a focus on community and sticking together for what is good for the majority.
