The Book Dragon

Linked by Rachel Rener

I was expecting this book to be good, I mean, I loved the first two in the series, but this book is not just good. It is freaking fantastic! It is often the case that middle books in a series drag a little, because of the need to set up an ending but also get to loads of different places to make that bang happen. Rachel Rener is clearly not bothered by such "traditions". Linked blows all of that way out the water.

This book is fast-paced, action packed, filled with tender moments, fantastical humour (yes, I mean that quite literally--purple béarnaise sauce steals the show!), hilarious side-characters, and nail-biting tension. And then there's the utter emotional destruction of Zayn and Talia finally getting their act together only to not be able to be together because of a cursed tattoo! To add insult to injury, I have to wait months, MONTHS, for the next book in the series. I'M LITERALLY DYING OVER HERE!!!

Loved every minute of it. Might just re-read the whole series while I wait for that final book to drop. And to anyone who enjoys steamy PNR, fast-paced urban fantasy, portal fantasy with fae, cute familiars that actually have a personality, or kick-ass Jewish mothers, you need this series in your life!
