What a cute Regency style low fantasy read with a dash of gothic creepiness. I enjoyed the story and the slow reveal of a world where dragons do exist, although they've been kept hidden. Edith is a fun main character, who at first has no time or interest in her father's inheritance of Wormwood Abbey, but as she gets to know her cousins and experience the place first hand, things begin to change. Her explorations were entertaining and I liked her steady, logical approach to life.
The ending in particular was very endearing. It truly hit the spot and put this cozy fantasy series on the map for me. I'm definitely curious to find out what happens next and would love to spend some more time in this wonderful, magically enhanced world of the Yorkshire countryside.
